After watching the battles in the capital, there is no draw back from losing a town, other then having to take it back again. In the case of the capital and castle, swapping them around even gets you extra points.

So, I'm thinking in the new version:

Capturing a mine, town, capital, castle earns you 5/10/15/20 points and losing it costs you 5/10/15/20 points, respectively. You still keep the 5 points you get for holding the node for a turn.

Further, if you lose control of town, capital, or castle, the capturing team takes some of your gold, unassigned equipment, and cards.

Makes sense, but re: capturing equipment, gold, cards, etc. would you make it possible for teams to "store" their items in one or two places so that they're protected (or at more risk) if a place is taken over?
